The San Diego Comic-Kon often has some surprises, and certainly this year has already been delivered. Tom Cruise made an unexpected look to reveal the first trailer for the long-awaited sequel Top Top: Maverick. The movie stars Cruise, who recreates his role as Pitt Mitchell, now an old pilot captain who has declined promotions and seems to prefer to stay in the air. – and explained the practical effects as well as their views on the importance of the Top Gun franchise.
"Everything you see in this movie is real," he said. "Flying, you know, we work with the navy. All the flying ones you see in this picture are real. I really wanted to give you the experience of being in the plane. It's about family, victim, heroism, aviation. This is a love letter to aviation. "
Parallel with the trailer, Paramount released a poster for the film. In the distance, we see an airplane flying in the sky; more obviously, the back of the jacket, decorated with different fleeting spots, can be seen by the hero standing inside the hangar. Check it out below:
Maverick was directed by Joseph Cosinski, who previously directed another movie for Oblivion cruise. Along with Cruise, movie stars Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, John Hamm, Glen Powell, Louis Pulman and Ed Harris. It enters the cinemas on June 26, 2020.
