Retailers, including Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s and Wayfair, have stopped selling My Pillow products after Trump-backed CEO Mike Lindell insisted on baseless allegations of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
News drive: Lindell told NBC News on Tuesday that traders had called to say they could face a “boycott” if they did not take action. But Bed Bath & Beyond and Kohl’s said the decision was due to a lack of demand for My Pillow products.
- Lindell told Fox9 that behind the moves were “leftists” on social media, who he said also led to HEB dropping My Pillow products.
What are they saying: Axios contacted all retailers for comment. Bed Bath & Beyond told the New York Times: “We are streamlining our range to end a number of lower-performance products and brands.”
- Kohl’s told USA Today in a statement: “Customer demand for MyPillow has been reduced. We will sell our current inventory and will not buy additional / future inventory in the brand.”
To note: The action by retailers comes a day after Dominion Voting Systems sent a letter of termination and abstention from Lindell over the spread of disinformation related to the 2020 elections.
