Home investigators released the deposition of Fiona Hill, who earlier this year was Russia's chief policy officer at the National Security Council.
Hill is said to have told investigators that she was registering concerns about President Trump's policy of pressuring the Ukrainian government in return for commitments to launch investigations that could help him in the 2020 elections.
] Hill also told investigators that her then boss, then-national security adviser John Bolton, also did not want to go along with Trump's plan.
Bolton, of Hill, called the drug deal and warned that Trump's personal lawyer – who helped guide the plan – was a "hand grenade" that threatened to explode and injure those around him.
Given Bolton's refusal to testify, Hill's account may be the closest the investigators have come to his perspective on the Ukraine affair.
