(CNN) – Two guests aboard the Celebrity Millennium have tested positive for Covid-19 in the required testing at the end of the cruise, according to a news release Thursday.

Celebrity Millennium – the first major cruise ship to allow American passengers since the pandemic halted the industry, sails on Saturday.

The two positive guests who shared the ship̵

7;s cabin are asymptomatic and are now in isolation while being monitored by a medical team, the statement said.

“We are tracking contacts, speeding up testing for all close contacts and monitoring the situation closely,” the news release said.

The ship sails “with fully vaccinated crew and guests and following comprehensive protocols that are in line with our destination partners and go beyond CDC guidelines to protect the health and safety of our guests,” the statement said.

The 7-day cruise from St. Marton includes port stops in Barbados, Aruba and Curacao.

All guests had to show proof of vaccination and a negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours before Saturday from St. Maarten, the statement said.

About 500 passengers are on board, with more than 95% fully vaccinated, according to previous CNN reports. Children who were not yet able to receive vaccinations had to show negative Covid-19 tests.

“This situation shows that our strict health and safety protocols work to protect our crew, guests and the communities we visit,” the news release said.

Details of the Covid-19 vaccinations of the two passengers are unknown.

On Monday, Royal Caribbean Group, the parent company of Celebrity Cruise Lines, said on Twitter that the return to Barbados “for the first time in more than a year is really special.”

“Every measured step has been taken to ensure that we protect the health and safety of our guests, crew and residents of this valued destination, and we are grateful,” the statement said.
