Two suspects arrested in alleged rabies shooting at 6-year-old Aiden Lions

Two people have been arrested in the alleged death of 6-year-old Aidan Leos, who died at the hands of his mother on Highway 55 in Orange last month.

Orange County Superintendent Katrina Foley said the two suspects were arrested Sunday in front of a restaurant on the Costa Mesa.

A law enforcement source told The Times that the suspects were a man and a woman and both were under surveillance before their arrests.

They were detained a day after a monument to Aiden was erected.

There was an outbreak of public grief after the death of Aiden, who was led by his mother to kindergarten. The prize for information about the shooting quickly rose to $ 500,000 with donations from politicians, a local cafe owner and many others.

On the morning of May 21, Aiden was riding a booster in the back of his mother’s car.

His mother later told another driver that she and her son were in the lane of the car when she started switching the exit lane and another car cut her off.

She gestured to the people inside and kept trying to get off the highway. A bullet got into the back of her car.

She pulled away and took the bloody boy in her arms.

The California Highway Patrol has released photos of a white Volkswagen Golf SportWagen for 2018 or 2019, which investigators say the suspects are using. A police source said the two arrested on Sunday matched the description of the couple in the white car.

During the memorial, which was broadcast live to the public, Aiden’s mother, sister Alexis, and grandmother recalled memories of the young boy, whom they described as “a little empathy,” mature after his age.

Alexis said her little brother was “an angel, too pure and innocent for this world.” Her voice trembled as she remembered Aiden calling her “beautiful” or “so beautiful.”
