PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – American Airlines flight was diverted to Pittsburgh International Airport on Saturday morning.
Flight 2244 on US Airlines was flown from Chicago to Washington when it departed at about 9:20 am due to a mechanical problem, according to a spokesman for American Airlines.
The plane landed safely at 9:30 am.
There were 72 passengers and a crew of 6.
All passengers were overbooked on other flights.
In a statement, American Airlines said: "We never want to disrupt our clients' travel plans and regret the problems. “
