Washington: Attorneys General from the 50 US States and the District of Columbia will announce Thursday that they are joining forces with major telecommunications providers, including AT&T Inc, Verizon Communications Inc, Comcast Corp, Sprint Corp and T-Mobile Us Inc, to State agencies and companies disclose non-binding "principles of anti-robot".
Companies have agreed to take steps to reduce unwanted calls and work with Attorney General's attorneys for "recognized frauds and trends in illegal robocalling" and to update statuses on "potential additional solutions" to combat illegal robocall. "
Robocalls are the largest source of complaints to the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, and many general government attorneys. In recent months, Congress has been working on legislation to handle unwanted calls.
