The problem of wages Digital Finance

Jose-Guerra José Guerra.- The nominal wage is the amount of bolivars the worker receives as compensation for working time. The real wage relates to the purchasing power of these bolivars. This distinction is fundamental. the result of a hyperinflationary process that strikes The only way that real wages can increase in the long run is through productivity gains, but in the short term the dynamics are different and depend a lot on the bargaining capacity of organized workers. 9659002] The determination of wages is due to a socio-political process related to the ability of workers. Employers must agree on compensation. Currently in Venezuela, the main employer is the state, and the cruelty to its workers is unprecedented. The classic tool used to protect the worker is collective bargaining, through which both salary requirements and working conditions are met. This regime completely ignored this mechanism and ignored trade unions as a real representation of workers. Whoever did it, Chavez once lost the CTV election with his candidate Aristóbulo Istúriz, who planned to create a workers' headquarters with a bundle of union bureaucrats, discredited and corrupt. So much so that those who now direct the remnants of this plant have been eternal in these positions.

In a country like Venezuela, with hyperinflation and without a wage indexing mechanism, it is clear that the purchasing power of wages, ie. that is, the real wage has dropped significantly, ordering at least five million people to starve. We are talking about those who earn one or two minimum wages, which include a good portion of the staff of the Central Public Administration and pensioners and retirees. Together with unions, the bargaining power of workers is significantly reduced.

For this and other reasons, we raised the issue of the world of work so that the country does not forget those who work and cannot feed or live. honestly. We have raised the need for a worker protection mechanism, which may be the dollarization of their wages at the value paid in bolivars of a basket of goods and services expressed in dollars, so that hyperinflation does not condemn it to difficulties. It can also be by indexing wages according to price increases. What we cannot do is cross our arms. We need to fight for regime change. In the meantime, there is a proposal to fight workers.
