Virginia University Wesleyan dean resigns following alleged Facebook post calling Biden voters “anti-American” and “anti-Christian”

When asked for further comment and whether he adhered to his words in the post, Yuel told CNN in an email that he “apologized profusely” and “he had nothing left to add.” Ywell did not confirm CNN’s inquiry into whether his resignation from VWU was in response to the post.

Ewell’s alleged post, a screenshot of which was originally reported in The Virginian-Pilot, called on all Facebook friends who voted for Biden or were Democrats to take him to the social media platform. CNN has not independently seen or confirmed the publication.

“If you were ignorant, anti-American and anti-Christian enough to vote for Biden, I really don̵

7;t want to be your social friend on social media,” the alleged post said. “I wouldn’t go out with you in real life, I don’t want to hang out with you in practice. You damaged the election. You violated our youth. You gave birth to our country. I have standards and I don’t meet them. Please remove yourself.”

In a statement posted on its website, the University of Virginia Wesleyan confirmed on Monday that the university has accepted Yuel’s resignation. Iwell has been a professor at VWU since 2008, according to an article by The Virginian-Pilot.

Stephanie Smaglo, VWU’s chief marketing officer, told CNN on Monday that the university currently had no “additional information”.
