Google Nest thermostats make it easy to remotely control your home’s temperature, but it all relies on a wireless connection. In the last few months, some Nest owners have encountered a “w5” error with wi-fi, which interrupts all remote connections.
The bug that has been appearing since November in the current forum topics will not pull the plug on the actual control of your thermostat, but simply the ability to control it from a smartphone or smart speaker. While it is good to know that this problem will not completely destroy your air conditioner, it essentially violates the biggest selling point of the product.
For some users, this problem can be fixed by standard reset or other troubleshooting measures. For others, the famous hardware with the internal Wi-Fi chip requires a complete replacement of hardware ̵
