Thanksgiving is still a few months away, but retailers are starting to announce holiday plans – and for now they look similar to 2020.

Target started closing holiday stores back in January when it said the stores were winning “does not open on the holiday, which is traditionally a huge shopping day in connection with Black Friday.

The three stores have also made masks voluntary for fully vaccinated customers and employees, except where state and local mask regulations remain in place.

With few exceptions, almost every major retailer remained closed on Thanksgiving 2020, reversing the earlier start of Black Friday. CVS, Walgreens, some grocery stores and convenience stores were among the open companies.

Traditionally, some retailers remain closed on the holiday, including Apple, Costco and Sam’s Club, and Home Depot and Lowe’s home furnishings. (See the full list of stores that were closed on Thanksgiving 2020 here.)
