Call of Duty: Warzone local community analyst JGOD has explored the best long-range launch classes that could replace AMAX when it gets nervous during Season 3.
It follows Warzone fans and nervesThe CR-56 AMAX has become the dominant long-range target, while the secondary sees a ton of variety. However, this may soon change, as can Raven Software announced the upcoming nerves of AMAX (as well as some other weapons).
For those who want to be prepared for the world after AMAX, or just for those who want to go against the grain and play something different from AMAX right now, JGOD has some options. Warzone̵
Working through a spreadsheet that details the killing time (given the location of the shot, recoil, rate of fire and bullet speed), JGOD smooths out some interesting options to consider at range. While the meta depends on the details of the patch, they lead to some quality options.
The 5 best JGOD charges for season 3 of Warzone for long distances
First, JGOD eliminated six weapons from Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War, which are “very good” but simply not competing: Kilo, AN-94, M16, FiNN, M13 and PKM. This leaves him to consider 11 different ARs and LMGs, but five stand out:
- Bruen MK9 (LMG, MW)
- Class 5.56 (AR, MW)
- War 6 (AR, MW)
- M4-A1 (AR, MW)
- Stoner 63 (LMG, BOCW)
Looking at the JGOD spreadsheet, it is obvious that AMAX is in turn in terms of TTK. But given the importance of recoil, powerful weapons such as the XM4, RAM-7 and AK-47 (BOCW) are thrown aside as long-range options because of how difficult they are to control.
Conversely, the FARA 83 is relatively easy to control for the BOCW AR, but is placed on shelves because it is expected to be changed when it is AMAX. This leaves us with the above five options, each with its pros and cons.
The best primary Warzone after AMAX: Stoner, M4 or Krig?
As you can see in the TTK comparison chart from TrueGameData, the AMAX is elite – but even without the nerves, the Stoner actually outperforms it in a TTK of about 37 to 57 meters.
But for gamers who prefer more mobility and easier recharging times, the M4 is very intriguing. With a comfortable recoil and quality damage, the nostalgic AR actually performs very much like the Stoner, while outpacing any other AR by about 45 meters.
As JGOD points out, there is a difference between a real TTK and a practical TTK. His spreadsheet demonstrates changes to the TTK based on the head shots, which is related to how easy it is for a player to control his gun.
As such, while Stoner and M4 stand out as viable options once AMAX gets nervous, Krig and Grau deserve attention if you prefer their recoil models. When the nerves come in, we will be on top of the news and the upcoming target. Until then, test these weapons and supplement them with some of JGOD’s favorite close-up options.
