Alanis Morissett released the 1971 cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s classic “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)”, along with an accompanying video.
In the video, directed by Victor Indritso, Morissette and her family recreate their own bed, reflecting Lennon and Ono, with a handwritten “Bed Peace” sign affixed behind them as they sing the true show. The visual is dotted with videos of her roommates and their families singing together, along with black-and-white snow scenes of sleigh rides and children building a snowman.

The song follows the release of her ninth studio album, Such nice forks in the roadwho arrived in July. On December 10, Morissette will appear during the host of Tina Faye Just One Night: The Best of Broadway specifically for NBC. The event will benefit Broadways Cares / Equity Fights AIDS, a non-profit that supports the Actors Fund. NBC will also make a donation to the organization.
