Silicon Valley HBO's favorite satire of the tech industry is over. HBO has released the first trailer for the show's sixth and final season, which seems to keep up the pace and ridicule with which the series is known – and which reveals that the new season is coming on Sunday, October 27th.
The show follows the staff of Pied Piper, a fictional startup making a decentralized "new internet". But the trailer spends most of its time having fun with the more recent trend in Silicon Valley: tech executives appear before congressional committees. Richard Hendricks (Thomas Middoldich), CEO of Peid Piper, nervously walks as he answers a committee question, while Pead Piper's team stares in horror at the plant and later celebrates his awkward but inspiring response. Silicon Valley made by Beavis and Butt-Head and King of the Hill co-creator Mike Judge, became famous for his satire of technology trends. But The Verge criticized the show for not addressing some of the increasingly political issues in technology, saying Season 5 feels "more like yesterday's technological news, not something generated in 2018 Based on the trailer, the newest season seems to be getting more into politics, but we'll have to wait and see if the show can really catch the tech industry crazy in 2019
