CHELSEA, Manhattan (WABC) –
The train service L is gradually recovering after flooding by a broken plumbing and closes several blocks in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan.
between Manhattan and Brooklyn, the service ends at 14 St-Union Square. Passengers are advised to expect long delays in both directions.
The break of the 20-inch core is reported at about 5:45 am on Wednesday's 7th Avenue and 14th Street in Chelsea.
Water flows on the 7th Avenue.
Communal crews responded and turned off the water that quickly retreated.
However, water has been affected by residents living on Seventh Avenue.
The interruption eventually floods the streets and pours water into the nearby metro station
The L service was interrupted between the 8th Avenue in Manhattan and Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn.
Passengers are advised to use train lines A, C, J or M or M1
The following streets were closed for traffic as cleaning and repair began: 7th Avenue between 16 and 13 streets; and the 14th and 15th streets between the 6th and 8th avenues. New York City News
