However, there is one important rule that diets must follow when using the plan, Harry Aitken, sports scientist and head coach at Auster Fitness, told Express.co.uk.
The keto diet plan involves eating foods high in fat and low in carbohydrates to help the body get into a fat burning state called ketosis.
Some weakeners will do this by eating less than 25 grams of net carbohydrates per day and avoiding high-carbohydrate foods such as bread, rice, pasta, starchy vegetables and sugary fruits.

"Throughout the day it helps to regulate your blood sugar so that the levels of sugar and insulin in your body do not reach their highest levels, which means that you want sweet snacks much less."

"In order to process and extract energy from fat, metabolism is increased, which means that the body naturally burns more calories," Harry tells Express.co.uk.
