You are solely responsible for your comments and by using TribLive.com you agree to our Terms and Conditions.
We moderate the comments. Our goal is to give a substantial comment to a general readership. By screening materials, we provide a space where readers can share intelligent and informed comments that enhance the quality of our news and information.
While most comments will be published if they are thematic and not offensive, moderating decisions are subjective. We will do them as carefully and consistently as possible. Due to the volume of reader comments, we are unable to review individual moderation decisions with readers.
We appreciate thoughtful comments representing different points of view that make your point quickly and politely. We strive to protect discussions from multiple comments from either the same reader or different readers.
We follow the same standards of taste as the daily. A few things we will not tolerate: personal attacks, obscenity, vulgarity, obscene language (including explications and letters followed by dashes), commercial promotion, presentation, inconsistency, proselytism and expulsion. Do not include URLs to websites.
We do not edit comments. They are approved or deleted. We reserve the right to edit a comment that is cited or removed from an article. In this case, we can correct the spelling and punctuation.
We welcome strong opinions and criticism of our work, but we do not want comments to be shaken by discussions of our policies, and we will moderate accordingly.
We appreciate it when readers and people quoted in articles or blog posts point out errors in fact or emphasis and will investigate all allegations. But these suggestions must be sent by e-mail. In order not to distract other readers, we will not post comments that suggest a correction. Instead, adjustments will be made to a blog post or article.
