We are only hours away from the big main note of Google I / O 2021 and there are many things to get excited about this year. Although most messages remain secret, we can expect messages for a ton of products aimed at Google users. What are you most excited about?
Up on the schedule for I / O 2021 is everything – from Android 12 to Google Assistant and everything in between. One of the big themes we expect to see is Android itself, which is likely to debut a huge new visual redesign. As for the new hardware, we don’t expect much. There is more than a small chance to see the debut of the Pixel Buds A-Series, but the Pixel 5a seems very unlikely at the moment. Nest definitely has plans for 2021, but the advent of I / O seems unlikely beyond the possibility of software bits.
Of particular interest this year seems to be Wear OS, the smartwatch platform that Google has overlooked over the past few years. There has been a lot of activity from Google recently around the platform, with the arrival of Gboard for Wear OS, the opening of the Tiles feature on the platform for third-party applications and much more. Just today we noticed a teaser from Google about the “new version of Wear”, which will be discussed more in I / O. This also appears around the rumors that Samsung is preparing to abandon its Tizen platform in the upcoming Galaxy Watch 4 series with Wear OS on her place.
Our Abner Li has an excellent breakdown of everything we expect to see on Google I / O 2021 here.
Personally, Wear OS is certainly what excites me the most about I / O this year, but it’s far from the only thing we’ll see. What about you? What excites you most about joining the Google I / O live stream and our live broadcast? Vote in the poll and post a comment!
