WhatsApp Business, a version of the messaging application that allows small businesses to connect with their customers, is now spreading around the world with iOS. The free app launches on iOS last month, but only in a limited number of countries. WhatsApp Business has been available on Android since last year.
Unlike the WhatsApp standard app, WhatsApp Business allows business owners to create an account to share company details, such as the email address or store address, and have access to congratulations and distance messages to Manages customer interactions (which connect to them through the standard WhatsApp client). The WhatsApp Web interface is also supported by the application.
The WhatsApp Business application should not be confused with WhatsApp Business API, a paid service for much larger companies. The API allows businesses to send notifications such as boarding passes and receipts, as well as responding to customer requests. At present, this is one of the few ways that WhatsApp monetizes directly.
WhatsApp Business App is now available in Brazil, Germany, Indonesia, India, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States and will be released in the rest of the world in the coming weeks.
