When Kirby Smart will hire a new security coordinator

Welcome to Good Day, UGA . Check us every working day in the morning about everything you need to know about football, recruitment, basketball and more.

When will Georgia hire a Defense Coordinator?

Mel Tucker was hired as head coach in Colorado on December 5th. This means Wednesday that Georgia will look for a possible defense co-ordinator and defense coach for six weeks.

Georgia Coach Kirby Smart, who still has a great defense arm, wants to go through this search. He wants to hire the right person to make his staff better. But unlike the offensive coordinator and the narrow end openings completed by James Cowley and Todd Hartley, there was no obvious candidate to replace Tucker.

Of course, Smart could have encouraged Dan Linning's coach, or coach Glen Schumann. to resolve the issue of the Defense Coordinator. But it still leaves a hole in the defensive place and Smart is much more likely to lure some of the country's best defense coaches to come to Georgia if he can also give them responsible responsibilities to a defense co-ordinator.

this did not happen. LSU Defense Coach Cory Raymond interviewed this job, but seems to be staying in LSU. Raymond may actually be the best coach of the defensive backs in the country, considering the talent that LSU takes on the position. But alas, it seems he wants to continue training in his alma mater.

It is worth mentioning Derrick Ansly at this point, someone would have much to assume that Georgia would be interested in raising a pedigree and its links to Alabama and Nick Saban's way of thinking. But, despite being "very focused" on work by Mike Griffith at DawgNation, there is no mention of interviewing or interest in work.

At one point, Georgia will have to respond to potential recruits, such as the four-star defense backs of Kair Elam and Nick Cross, who might be their future coach and security co-ordinator. With Elam, who was going to visit this weekend, he would really help the bulldozers hire a place, so Elam would have a better feeling of who he would play if he visited Georgia. If not, there is a very good chance Elam to finish to play for the Florida Gators.

So when Georgia fans have to start worrying about the lack of a defense co-ordinator and a coach for defense support? I would say Monday because it would probably mean that the ship sailed to Elam, which is the best target for recruiting Georgia at this time. But his next rental will be the largest he has ever made in Georgia. We hope it will come sooner rather than later

Ashton Hagans cut basketball in Georgia

The biggest weakness of basketball in Georgia was bared on Tuesday night as number 1

2 Kentucky Wildcats came out with a win 69 -49. The star of the meeting was Kentucky Ashton Hagans, as the one-time Georgia dedicated the bulldozers to 23 points, and filled the article with 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 stolen.

big player, but I was not here – said coach of Georgia Tom Kriean for Hagans. "We did just one visit, he never came to Georgia. I would feel different if he did not come here and we hired him for years. He is a really good player and a league full of good players, an exclusive freshman. "

Hagans is No. 1 in the recruitment class since 2019, but he reclassified himself and enrolled early in Kentucky. His execution against the bulldogs was even more impressive than the fact that he was obviously the subject of Georgia fans who chirped him and chanted a traitor at Hagen, who came from Cartersville, Ga. Covington, Ga. He was certainly fed up with hatred, and he reported was blowing kisses to booing fans.

Personally, I want Georgia fans not to behave the way they did it on Tuesday, I understand why they can feel that way, but Haggins has made it clear that if Georgia still uses Mark Fox as a coach of the program , he will come to Georgia. But the bulldogs moved from Fox in March, and Hagan also did. His decision was not personal, it was strictly business, as Michael Corleone would say. You can not use it in both directions. As the DawgNation Chip Towers notes, the Georgian security game is not good enough at the moment to compete at the highest level in basketball at college. Georgia has some good figures to go on in Nicholas Claxton and Riceham Hammonds, Kree's free style has helped unlock their games. But while Crean begins to bring players to Hagans ability, the end result will not be so different from the end of the Fox era.
