Which schools in Alabama have the lowest vaccination rates?

Alabama has a relatively small number of families who choose not to vaccinate their children. But families who drop out tend to place their children in private schools, where the vaccination rate may be significantly lower than is typical of a school in Alabama.

AL.com received data from the Alabama Department of Public Health this month about medical and religious immunization exceptions for Alabama schools. More than 1,500 Alabama schools responded to the voluntary survey.

ADPH data also includes numbers on immunization certificates, also known as blue slips. These are records collected by the school that confirm that the student has been vaccinated.

Several Alabama schools – most of them public – have a large number of missing certificates, according to ADPH.
