Whenever Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network talks about something related to the NFL project, it would be wise to listen. And yesterday, Jeremiah talked about almost the entire first round of this year’s event – breaking his latest scenario for a mock-up of the project in 2021 to explore what the Miami Dolphins and the rest of the league could do at the end of the month. Jeremiah’s sham project involved four quarterbacks in the first four elections; A development that has certainly helped the Dolphins provide a hunter of gaps in this scenario.
But with options comes the ability to make the right (or wrong) decision. What move did Jeremiah take toward the Dolphins? Here are his two choices for Miami in the first round of his latest model in 2021
Total number 6 – WR Ja’Marr Chase, LSU Tigers
“Miami came back up after splitting to number 12, judiciously considering it could land either Pitts or Chase with the sixth pick.” – Daniel Jeremiah, NFL.com
Total No18 – DE Gregory Rousseau, Miami Hurricanes
“Rousseau had a certain stiffness in his training for the day, which affected some teams. However, see its combination of size, length and production. Plus, his impressive 10-yard split time (1.57 seconds) will carry a lot of weight in the ratings. “- Daniel Jeremiah, NFL.com
With Florida TE Kyle Pitts getting off the board at number 5 ahead of the Dolphins, the decision with the Dolphins’ first choice comes down to Chase or possibly a fight with Penny Sewell. But given Miami’s offensive line investments in 2020 and the depth of this year’s offensive line, Jeremiah was inspired to offer Dolphin Pursuit. The LSU product is the same player that is often projected on the Dolphins as number 3 in general.
Rousseau is a bit of a surprise; as Jeremiah mentioned, Rousseau’s Pro Day numbers were a little overwhelming after they didn’t play in 2020. But there’s little doubt that this long-handed pass passes the shape of a Dolphins walker and will fit right along the line.
