AUSTIN (KXAN) – Opening statements began Tuesday in a federal case against a man accused of kidnapping two sisters from their Round Rock home on New Year's Eve, 2017.
Terry Allen Miles, 45, faces federal charges after police say he took two girls, ages 7 and 14 at the time, to Colorado. Both were found unharmed and Miles was indicted on kidnapping charges by a federal grand jury in February 2018.
Opening statements by attorneys representing the federal government and Terry Miles started at 9 a.m. Prosecutors argued that Miles had been regularly sexually active with the then 14-year-old girl and argued that she had killed her mother's daughter before taking her and her sister to Colorado
