CLEVELAND, OH – This week Hey, Mary Kay! I answer questions about Denzel Ward, Jack Conklin and others.
Hey, Mary Kay: Is there a chance Denzel Ward or Kevin Johnson will be released on Sunday for the late game? “Bart Zirkel, Belfontaine, Ohio.”
Hey, Bart: Unfortunately for Browns on both corners, they cannot be activated on Sunday outside the COVID-1
I expected both the Chiefs game and the great Patrick Mahomes if the Browns won.
Hey, Mary Kay: What’s up with Jack Conklin? Is it a game solution? “Greg Zimmerman, Houston, Texas.”
Hey, Greg: Conklin was kept at home during training on Friday due to illness and was identified as suspicious of the game. But he travels to Pittsburgh alone on Saturday, so that’s a good sign he’s going to play. This is key for the browns, who are without left guard Joel Bitonio (COVID-19). They will need all the help they can get by detaining TJ Watt, Cam Heyward and the other formidable Steelers defenders.
Hey Mary Kay: What’s going on with Money Mitch (Terrance Mitchell)? Did he do something wrong or was he injured? Can this team finally climb to the top of Pittsburgh Mountain and slap Big Brother in the face? – #beatthesqueelers Jeff Lerner, Avon, Ohio
Hey, Jeff: Mitchell had a positive test for COVID-19 on Friday, but when tested again, it was negative. By Saturday, he was found to be falsely positive like Ronnie Harrison and Montreal Meander, and he was not on the reserve list. This means that it will be good to get involved in the game, although it is stated as dubious. This is good news for the Browns, given that Ward and Johnson are out. If Ben Retlisberger is rested and throws the ball well, it will be difficult to cover Ju Ju Smith-Schuster, Chase Claypool and Diontay Johnson. But the Steelers are also without Joe Hadden.
Hey Mary Kay: Do you think we should switch from Denzel Ward and continue with Terrance Mitchell and Greedy Williams next season? It seems unreliable even without COVID-19. Mitch started almost every game! “Kevin Laing.” Willowie, Ohio
Hey, Kevin: Definitely not. Ward is one of the best corners in the NFL and had an excellent season, although he missed five games – three with a tense calf and the last two due to a positive test for COVID-19. Ward closed his country on the field and finished second in the NFL with 18 saves, although he missed four games in the regular season. It’s hard to find such good angular connections and Ward won an extension in the off-season.
Hey, Mary Kay: When the Browns restaurant is closed, how is everyone tested every day? Does anyone go to all their houses? And what about those who are being treated? I guess Miles Garrett is getting breathing procedures and others need treatment for injuries? Also, why didn’t anyone ask Kevin Stefanski how he was feeling? “Cliff Vaughn, Louis Center, Ohio.”
Hey, Cliff: The Browns have a pass-through testing center set up outside their facility, and players must come every day, even on a day off. Players can come to the medical treatment building even when it is closed, and I think it is safe to assume that Miles Garrett has continued to do breathing procedures to recover from the prolonged effects of COVID-19. We asked Kevin Stefanski how he was feeling and he didn’t want to talk much about himself. He looked a little submissive when he talked to us on Zoom call on Wednesday, but he was cleaner on Friday.
