Why the show may not end after all

It is official: In step with the Kardashians, the long series that shot Kim Kardashian West and her family to world fame, will end in 2021 after 14 years and 20 seasons on air.

The announcement came as a big shock to fans and left many people devastated. However, their luck may turn. New reports suggest that the family may return to television with a deal through a streaming service as cable ratings continue to rise.

Kardashian-Jenners can start a new show in a streaming service

After the end of KUWTK It was announced that Page Six announced that Kardashian-Jenners could conclude a streaming deal within a year.

“We are told that they are interested in signing a more profitable streaming deal with one of the online giants such as Netflix, Apple or Amazon,” the publication said.

In 2017, the family renewed their contract with E! for the reported $ 150 million. But Page Six notes that they could earn hundreds of millions more with a streaming service deal.

“There is more money in streaming. And this is global, “said a source.

In addition, another insider claims that the family is interested in setting up a media company that can produce other shows such as Shark aquarium. But first, they say they will “take some time” before pursuing new things.

“Although they plan to take a break after that KUWTK the shooting is over, if they are offered something that works for them and it makes sense, they will consider it, “a source told Entertainment Tonight in a report published on September 10.

“The family has grown bigger than ever and as they progress, they can be selective in the work they do,” the source continued. “Besides, their name lifts the weight and they can control their brand, which they failed to do when they first registered because no one knew them.”

Did Kim Kardashian West hint at switching to a streaming service?

None of the family members commented directly on whether they were interested in switching to a streaming service. The Los Angeles Times points to Kardashian West’s announcement of the end of the show, where she thanks E! for what has been done for her family and to be their partner. Although this is not a direct confirmation, her language fuels speculation that she and Kardashian-Jenners are considering finding a new home for future projects.
