Chasing a white pickup truck, originally wanted for speeding in Riverside County, it traveled through Orange County before reaching a conclusion in East Los Angeles on Monday.
The chase began at about 8:32 p.m. Near Highway 91 and Highway 71, with a white pickup truck wanted for speeding, the Inner California Highway said.
Newschopper4 was over the chase around 8:40 p.m., as the driver was in the Anaheim area.
The driver was speeding on the highway “darkened”, which means that his headlights are off. With the driver on the wrong side of the street at points and driving in a dangerous way, the authorities withdrew and appeared to be switching to airship tracking after the pursuing vehicle.
At one point, the driver stopped at a gas station and managed to find time to possibly pump gasoline. Moments later, the driver jumped into the truck again and drove at excessive speed, with the headlights of the white vehicle cut off.
As the truck made its way to Fullerton, the driver hit the street at 95 miles per hour without the headlights on.
The driver continued to accelerate on the streets and drive unevenly, continuing to be “darkened”
As the chase continued, the driver headed 5 highways north and headed for Los Angeles County, continuing to drive without headlights on and accelerating at speeds above 100 mph.
After continuing to drive in a dangerous manner, the driver stopped in a neighborhood near the intersection of Floral Drive and Northeast Avenue. The driver fled and rushed to a residence in East Los Angeles.
Shortly afterwards, Los Angeles County deputies arrived at the home and began looking for the driver.
Authorities apparently found the backpack at the residence, but the search continued for the driver.
