- OnePlus CEO Pete Lau sheds light on the situation with the charger in the OnePlus 9 series.
- The CEO revealed that the new phones will indeed have a charger in the box.
When Apple first left the charger in the box with the iPhone 12, Android manufacturers such as Samsung and Xiaomi mocked the company for it. We all know what happened next. Both Samsung and Xiaomi have removed the charger from the packaging of their respective flagships. Although the latter has still made the accessory optional, it seems that the South Korean brand is making an all-in approach without a charger for its phones. This begs the question – What will OnePlus do? Will it connect the charger to the OnePlus 9 series phones? Fortunately, we have the answer.
In response to a comment on an official forum post that irritated the OnePlus 9 series, CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the new phones will indeed come with a charger in the box.
OnePlus typically connects Warp Charger to its flagship phones. The OnePlus 8T comes with a 65W charging adapter, and the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are also expected to receive the same.
Given that the flagships of OnePlus are becoming more expensive with each passing year, it may be a relief for many to know that this time they will not have to pay extra for a fast cable charger.
The question is, does the charger in the box really make a big difference? Will this thing affect your purchase decision when it comes to the new OnePlus flagships? Take our survey below and tell us what you think in the comments section.
