Willowick bar, quoted for repeated violation of state COVID-19 orders

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Last night, two bars in Ohio were found to be violating various state health orders, the Ohio Investigation Unit said.

Although the state hour is currently being abolished, other health orders, such as wearing masks and appropriate social distancing, are still in force.

One of the bars is located in northeastern Ohio, and here is what was quoted after it was observed in violation by the Ohio Investigation Unit:

Bogside Pub in Willowick: Agents arrived at the restaurant around 1

2:15 pm on Saturday to find clients who are not socially distant. Patrons could be seen in the bar ordering drinks while standing right behind those sitting at the top of the bar. There are no physical barriers between the groups, agents said. The pub was quoted as misbehaving. This is the second time the bar has been quoted since the beginning of the pandemic.

The other quoted bar is located in Toledo.

These cases will be reviewed by the Ohio Alcohol Control Commission and include potential fines and suspension of alcohol licenses.
