MADISON, Wisconsin (WMTV) – Wisconsin ranks thirteenth in the country for best air quality, but some residents think the state of Badger is a little smelly.
A desiccant study of 3,000 Americans across the country found that Wisconsin ranked second for the most smelly state or had the strangest odor.
Society seems to believe that Wisconsin smells like blue cheese, which makes sense given that Wisconsin is the American dairy country. New York ranks first as the most smelly, with Americans reporting that the country smells of chicken wings and garbage.
The study cites Wisconsin as having an air quality index (AQI) of 39.5, which puts it in the top twenty countries with the cleanest air. Hawaii ranked number one with an AQI of 21
