Wolfgang Van Halen says the rumors hurt his family

Wolfgang Van Halen took to Twitter to stop speculation about his takeover of his father in the famous group of the old Van Halen.

Eddie Van Halen, 65, has been battling cancer for years, leaving an impressive legacy as one of the world’s greatest guitarists.

His son is also a professional guitarist, but wants to know that there is no truth in the rumors that he will be part of a new Van Halen with bassist Michael Anthony and former vocalist Sami Hagar and drummer Alex Van Halen.

The younger Van Halen tweeted – using colorful language –
; that it was “a lie trying to take advantage of these terrible times” and asked people to “Please stop this.”

He also said that someone who continues the rumors “not only hurts the fans, but hurts me and my family”.

The 29-year-old has been working on his debut solo album for some time and in July answered a question on the social network whether being the son of such a famous musician is a blessing or a curse.

“It’s a great question. It’s really the same for both,” he said. “Like what I am, I think people will at least be interested in how my work will sound, which is very nice. But on the other hand, if it’s not exactly what they want to hear or if I don’t try to if “Van Halen-y” sounds enough to them, they’ll hate me and won’t tell me the time of day. “

“I’m fully prepared for the wave of hatred when my music comes out, because it won’t be what people think it will be,” he added. “I’m not trying to be my father, I’m trying to be myself.”
