DES MOINES – Police said a sex-disclosure message that led to the explosion left an Iowa woman dead Saturday.
Around 4:03 pm Police responded to a report. that a 56-year-old woman was seriously injured in the explosion, according to a news release from the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
When officers arrived at the scene in Knoxville, the woman was pronounced dead. Knoxville is about 40 miles southeast of Des Moines.
An investigation found that the gender disclosure message had caused an explosion and had caused a piece of debris to fly and hit the victim, the news release said.
No other information currently available.
This is not the first time a gender discovery party has ended a tragedy. In 2017, a shot at a sex disclosure event sparked a fire in Arizona, causing $ 8 million in damage.
