LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County deputy was praised on Monday for keeping calm after a female driver stopped for using her cell phone while driving became racist jealous of Mexicans.
The woman who was obscured in the video called the deputy a “Mexican racist” and after signing the quote said, “You’ll always be Mexican; you’ll never be white, you know that right? You’ll never be white. What do you really want to be?” you want to be white. “
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva told Bill Melugin, a Fox reporter, that he praised the deputy for keeping calm during the interaction. The report says the MP identifies as Latin. He recorded the interaction on a personal camera, as his station in San Dimas has no official cameras.
The woman, who identified herself as a teacher, seemed combative throughout the interaction, calling the deputy killer several times and accusing him of harassment. At one point, she said, “You are threatening to kill me and my son.”
She asked him to call his supervisor, who appeared to appear at the end of the video.
The department said it was investigating the matter.
