Earlier this year, a video clip showing Xiaomi's foldable phone has expired from the popularity of Evan Blas. The leaked video revealed that the left and right portions of the screen can be folded to become a compact device. Today, Xiaomi president Lin Bin shared a practical video with his folding phone. It looks like this is the same device that came out of Blass earlier this month. The company has not yet announced its official name with a double folding design. Bin said he thought of names like Xiaomi Dual Flex and Xiaomi MIX Flex for the folding phone. He asked the users of Weibo to offer a good name for the phone.
Samsung is expected to debut its first folding phone next month. The smartphone can be opened as a book to access the folding 7.3-inch display. But Xiaomi's upcoming folding phone will be uniquely designed. Xiaomi president Lin Bin claims he will be the world's second-ever mobile phone. As can be seen in the video, the phone screen can be folded to the right and left.
Bin has stated that the device shown in the video is an engineering unit. The company has overcome various technical difficulties in building a phone with a double folding design. Some of the problems the company is able to overcome are flexible flex screen technology, folding four-fold technology, flexible coating technology, MIUI system adaptation, and so on. the Xiaomi Dual Flex / MIX Flex allows it to deliver a combined experience on a tablet and smartphone. In the video bin it can be seen that it holds the unfolded device between the thumb and the small finger, which suggests that there may be a screen about 6 inches wide. After folding the square device on both sides, it can be transformed into a small screen device about 3 inches wide. At the top of the phone there is a button to lock the phone display.
No specifications for the Xiaomi Dual Flex / MIX Flex specifications. It could possibly be packaged with features like Snapdragon 855 and 8 GB RAM. Xiaomi confirmed that it will be present at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 201
