Last year's Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition received a lot of attention to its transparency, which offered insight into the motherboard and the phone's processor. As many suspected, the layer beneath the transparent case was a false board that was on the real hardware components. Mi will soon appear and it looks like Xiaomi is preparing a transparent version of this phone.
Lei Jun, founder and CEO of Xiaomi, publishes pictures of the upcoming Mi 9 Explorer Edition in his Weibo account. In sharp contrast to last year, when Xiaomi has repeatedly stated that the main board of Mi 8 is real, this post explains the complex process of carving a 0.3 mm thick aluminum sheet with all the fake components. the Mi 9 Explorer Edition section looks more like what you'll see under the laptop. Everything is covered, with very few of the (dummy) printed circuit board visible. There is still the snapdragon logo, as well as a few casual phrases in smaller text ̵
has confirmed some of the Explorer Edition hardware, including a "7-part lens", a 48-megapixel rear AI camera and a huge 12GB RAM. It is unclear whether the regular Mi 9 will also share these specifications.
