BOSTON – The already brutal series against Red Sox rival became even worse for the Yankees on Saturday when DJ LeMahieu lost 9-5 with low-grade fever in the groin during a Friday night loss at Fenway Park.
LeMahieu called it a "really small" strain and said he hoped to stay out of the victims list. "It's not too bad," said LeMahieu, who had the MRI exam on Saturday. Manager Aaron Boone said he does not expect LeMahiu to start Sunday's final, but he would not have said it would be inaccessible – though on a Monday morning, LeMahiu would have three consecutive days off.
"We'll see where it is [Sunday]," Boone said. "No decision yet."
The Yankees were also optimistic that they fled a bullet after Gio Urshela rolled his right ankle by running the basics of double on the eighth inning Saturday.
He easily scored one Kyle Higashaka later in the inn and, after losing, said he was fine.
"I was worried that he pulled something out," Boone said. "When he noted, he looked pretty good."
Boone and Brett Gardner had similar feelings to Gardner's painful left knee before the outsider finally pulled out of the IL after dropping the five straight games. in the Yankees who have survived this season, they can hardly afford to lose both ̵

If either LeMahieu, or Urshela finished, they will have a lot of company. In addition to Gardner and Anduhar, the Yankee crime is missing from Gary Sanchez (groin) and Giancarlo Stanton (knee). The Yankees are also without Aaron Judge, Aaron Hicks and Didi Gregorius (elbow) for considerable time this season.
And this does not include the often wounded Jacoby Ellsbury and Greg Bird.
The Yankees have endured almost all other injuries, thanks to LeMahieu and Urshela.
LeMahieu has already put his career in the RBI (71) and corresponds to high-level homorys (15). season with Colorado while Urshela continues to produce.
What helped Yankees's success is the fact that it is well rounded up, which is undoubtedly helped by the fact that the players have not been used and
This will be re-tested if either LeMahiu, or Urshela bent for a while.
