A handful of Google services are available today as Progressive Web Apps. After Music and TV, YouTube’s main site can now be installed as a PWA for quick special access.
Progressive web application support for YouTube.com has been added in the last few days. In Chrome, the released plus icon in a circle appears directly in the everything box, prompting users to “Install an app.” This differs from the “Manually install” browser overflow option, which has been available for a long time.
You then receive a large red playback logo in the launcher of your apps to open YouTube in a window that lacks the address bar and other UI elements for a special experience. Attaching the shelf (as in Chrome OS) provides instant access to what is being played.
